James Vaughan
Dougie Freedman claimed his first win as official Crystal Palace manager with a 1-0 success at home to Middlesbrough.
On-loan Everton striker James Vaughan claimed a second successive goal which gives Palace a four-point cushion above the relegation zone.
Boro started the brighter of the two sides with Julia Arca smacking a 35-yard drive against the post and Kris Boyd before Leroy Lita fired shots off target.
Then Vaughan put Palace ahead in the 36th minute, running past a couple of Boro defenders, before blasting a shot that took a deflection and into the back of the net for his seventh goal of the season.
Away keeper Jason Steele prevented Palace from going further ahead as he denied Jermaine Easter and Darren Ambrose.
Wilfried Zaha had an effort wide of the goal but Palace hung on a late Boro fightback to claim an important three points and a seventh successive home clean sheet in a row.
