Crystal Palace crashed to a 1-0 loss at Doncaster Rovers.

John Oster scored against his old employers with a deflected shot to give Doncaster their first win in 20 matches in Dean Saunders' first game as manager.

Palace struck the first chances with Sean Scannell and Glenn Murray going close, while Jon Parkin dragged two shots wide for Doncaster.

Palace midfielder Darren Ambrose tried his luck with a 20-yard curler and Murray's effort was saved by Neil Sullivan as the Londoners ended the half strongly.

Sullivan had to be alert to tip over Murray's header from Ambrose's corner after the interval before Mile Jedinak volleyed over.

Doncaster made the breakthrough after 65 minutes when Oster made a probing run from his own half and fired a 30 yard drive into the bottom left corner.

James Hayter and Oster could have added to the scoreline and defeat for the Eagles makes it four without a win in the league.

Doncaster: Sullivan, O'Connor, Martis, Naylor, Friend, Stock, Oster, Gillett, Coppinger (Lalkovic 57), Hayter, Parkin (Sharp 57).

Not Used: Gary Woods, Hird, Bennett.

Palace: Speroni, Ramage, McCarthy, Tunchev, Moxey, Ambrose, Jedinak, Wright (Williams 77), Zaha, Murray, Scannell (Easter 63).

Not Used: Price, Parr, Gardner.
