Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman hailed "two wonderful strikes" in his side's success at Watford.

Wilfried Zaha broke the deadlock at Vicarage Road with a stunning drive on 66 minutes before substitute Jermaine Easter netted another fine strike in stoppage time to seal a 2-0 away win.

Freedman said: "Even last year I studied certain games and thought our performances were very good but we didn't have that quality needed in the final third.

"Now we have added Glen Murray, Wilfried Zaha is chipping in with goals and with the performances of Sean Scannell, then all of a sudden we are turning good performances away from home into goals and winning games.

"I think that was the difference today. It was a good all round solid display with two wonderful strikes to win us the game and that is pretty much the difference. And it is the difference in any league. If you score goals like that then you have a chance to win any game.

"It was a deserved win because I felt that in both boxes we were better than Watford. We were more solid at the back and we showed we can score a goal."

Watford manager Sean Dyche said: "I was absolutely disappointed with the result and the performance.

"I make sure we pride ourselves on our work ethic and team spirit and then hope to bring quality within that. And it was lacking today.

"The players deserve better in a way because they are an honest group but they have to deliver more. We all take responsibility for that as a group. I think the fans deserved better.

"Goals change games. If Joe Garner scored instead of hitting the post then things could have been difference because football is built on very fine lines. That was a fine line. But I have no excuses about that performance because it wasn't good enough."
