Palace starlet Clinton Morrison is very likely to be granted his full Ireland debut by Republic boss Mick McCarthy after Niall Quinn withdrew from the squad that will face Croatia this week.

McCarthy is said to be making a decision on whether or not to start Morrison after training on Tuesday afternoon. However, it looks very likely that the Tooting born striker will be given his chance.

The Republic of Ireland boss said: "Morrison impressed me when playing for our Under-21s against Portugal and Estonia at the end of last season.

"Now he could get a run out against Croatia. He is definitely one for the future."

Meanwhile, The Palace reserves are taking on Cheltenham at the Dulwich Hamlets' Dog Kennel Hill ground tonight.

Matt Gregg and Wayne Carlisle, who were on the bench against Rotherham on Saturday, are set to play against Cheltenham as well as Jamie Pollock and Simon Rodger.

Reserves boss Mark Bowen will have a strong side to his disposal tonight.
