Jon Williams

Jon Williams

Aaron Mitchell welcomes the return of Crystal Palace's Welsh wunderkid Jon Williams.

Over the years the Palace Academy has churned out many good talents and Jon Williams is one who has proven his potential, going from Academy player to first team regular until injury hit him last year early in the season.

Joniesta is a player who has recieved much praise from fans and critics and many hope that once the U21 Wales midfielder has fully recovered from his broken leg he can pick up from were he started.

However the question is with the team performing well in the late stages of the season, where will Williams fit in once he is 100 per cent fit and eager to play.

Of late the midfield has remained fixed, apart from a few rotations due to injury and rests. But when you look at the strength of the central midfield partnership of Mile Jedinak and KG, and the wingers of Wilfried Zaha and Darren Ambrose it considering how well they have played recently; it is hard to see where Jonny will fit in.

Zaha has been his usual, the attacking player we crave for and has got better as the season has continued, and will continue to do so. And on his recent form would you sub him for Williams?

Then there is Dazza who as we know has not been on hot form this season, but none the less with the quality of his set pieces and the ability to score a few goals he is a luxury worth having.

Then you have KG and Jedi who have made a solid partnership in front of the back four. KG who is a South Africa regular has been solid all seaon, whilst Jedinak has improved vastly as the season has gone on, and was rewarded for his efforts with a goal against Peterborough.

Even knowing Williams will be eased back into the team I'm sure after his long term injury, it looks like he may we'll have to play his way back into the team.
