Team news

Hot property Wilfried Zaha has recovered from an ankle knock picked up in the midweek FA Cup defeat to Stoke.

New loan signing Jacob Butterfield will be added to the squad and Manchester City loanee Alex Nimely is available after being ineligible against the Potters.

Julian Speroni, Dean Moxey, Yannick Bolasie, Andre Moritz and Glenn Murray should all return after sitting out the cup game.

Kagisho Dikgacoi is at the African Nations Cup, while Danny Gabbidon (hamstring), Paddy McCarthy, Joel Ward (both groin) and Owen Garvan (knee) are sidelined.

Bolton boss Dougie Freedman will check on Keith Andrews (Achilles) and Sam Ricketts (groin). Marvin Sordell should keep his place up top and new signing Craig Davies is set for his debut.

Stuart Holden and Josh Vela could feature after long-term injuries, but Mark Davies (shoulder) and defender Matt Mills (thigh) are out.

Quotes

Roy Hodgson

"I can’t wait for Saturday. I want our fans to be respectful. I think Dougie deserves that. I’d like to think if I went to Blackpool that I would get a decent reception.

"I think that’s important in football that your fans actually say thank you if they think you’ve done a good job. They shouldn’t be nasty if you’ve left and they think you shouldn’t have left because they don’t know your life there really."

Dougie Freedman

"I played there for a long time, I can tell you what happens to every blade of grass, what happens when the sun shines on certain bits of the pitch.

"It is a pitch that doesn't take too well to the frost and I believe if the weather we're expecting comes it's going to be 50/50 whether it's on.

"I don't think there's been many changes in terms of their players and I see they're still picking up results, so there's no changes from that point of view.

"Looking at the videos there's not a lot of tinkering with the team so I'm expecting exactly what I left behind - a very good, solid team that's hard to break down.

"We can look at that as an advantage but they may try and double bluff and do something different because they know I know certain aspects of their game and their strengths and their weaknesses.

"So I really can't answer that question, that's probably one for Ian Holloway, but we'll set up in a certain way that I think will give us the best chance of winning the game."

Lennie Lawrence

"I think the reaction we get will be interesting. I know what we should get, but what we actually get is a different matter and we will see how it pans out.

"I always say you should judge a manager on how he leaves a club. And when Dougie left, Palace were in the top six with a good squad of young players and a sensible wage bill.

"He also had a terrific record in local derbies and in home games and when you consider what he inherited and how he left it, he did a pretty good job.

"The fans were always good to us and we were good for them. They were supportive during the difficult times and they enjoyed the good times with us.

"But fans pay their money and they will do what they want to do. They will dictate what sort of reaction we will get, but all I would say is think about what we did beforehand."
