Quotes

Roy Hodgson

"Connor [Wickham] is a work in progress. He has been injured and we have only had a few games from him, but the games he has played in have been great.

"True, he needs to add goals to his game and this year is a big one for him. But if he really is going to become what I hope he will become then next year could be the one.

"I think he can definitely get 15 goals in a calendar year and most managers would be quite happy with that. That's where I am targeting him next year.

"Lukaku is not lost on us, but I won't be asking Connor to keep watching him on Monday though. I would rather he concentrates on John Stones and the other centre half and do a job on them."

Scott Dann

"We have a good record against them [Everton] and we'd like to keep it that way, but obviously it's another year on and they'll be more determined. We need to be on our game and if we do that, like we did against Newcastle, we can score more goals.

"It will be another tough game, as we know. We have had some good results there recently, but it's going to be even tougher this year as they're playing well at the minute."

Roberto Martinez

"Obviously we want to aim for perfection and perfection is to play well, play exciting and attacking football that our fans enjoy and love and then to get a win at the end of it.

"We are striving to push each other to become better and because we have such a young group you feel the improvement is always there.

"For the next block of games it is vital the attention goes into the Premier League and solely into the Premier League games as December is the most significant month in terms of competing for 15 points in such a short period of time."
