Kim

After a brief hiatus, our series of profiles on the Crystals is back. Kim is next up and has sadly revealed she is leaving the squad.

Name: Kim.

Nickname: Kimba.

Age: 25.

Occupation: Promo girl.

Hometown: Crawley.

Years on the team: Five seasons.

What have you enjoyed most about being a Crystal last season? I'd not been to so many games due to illness and when I came back and all the fans were really welcoming. It was nice to know I had been missed.

What's the funniest thing that happened last season? Just the usual slipping over on the pitch when it's wet. That's always funny!

What is something that you can't help but spend money on? Food, I just like food way too much. It's where all my money goes on after rent and bills, from snacks, a big shop and going out to dinner. I'm just a food monster.

What do you keep in the boot of your car? I crashed my car a year ago and didn't get another one. But before that I would have slippers, a change of clothes, a duvet and pillow. It always came in handy if I wanted a sleepover and driven to my friend's house.

Something you can't live without? My phone. I shouldn't need it but I do wonder how my mum and dad got by. I Google everything, like how to cook a lasagne, easy.

What do you do for fun outside of cheerleading? I spend time with my housemates and family and friends. I like to do something fun and crazy at least once a month. I recently took my dad to Oxygen which is a massive hall full of trampolines and we had a fun hour just jumping around doing flips. It was really fun!

What is a habit that you wish to break? Selfies – I need to stop. It's getting beyond ridiculous. I've definitely cut down as there was a time when I was doing four a day and I might so one every two or three days. But I'm not going to stop completely because where's the fun in that?

What three items would you take with you on a deserted island? My duvet because it gets cold at night, something where there's WiFi so I can keep connected to the world and my cat.

If the zombie apocalypse happened tomorrow, which three Crystals would you want fight next to you and why? My two blondes Jess and Ciera. We've been friends before the Crystals so I know they'd have my back. And Malika, she's a hardnut. She'll fight them off for us.

What is the last thing you do before you go to bed? I check my phone and then put my alarm on.

What actress would play you in your life story? Zooey Deschanel from New Girl. She's funny, brunette, bit geeky and clumsy just like me.

FAVOURITES

Emoji: Crying laugh face.

Word: 'Spanks' for thanks.

Book: Confessions of a Shopaholic.

Smell: Something fruity.

Dance style: Ballet.

Music: Country.

Holiday spot: Turkey.

So what's this we hear that you're leaving? What are you going to do? I'm sadly leaving as I've been a Crystal for five seasons and I've got a new job at Chessington dancing in the Penguins of Madagascar show, and can't commit to the home games and training required to be a Crystal.

When did you join the Crystals and how did you find out about the opportunity? I joined mid season 2011 as my best friend Jess Highfield was in the squad and told me to audition.

What is your ideal job? Every job has been my ideal job, from dancing on the pitch every home game at the mighty Crystal Palace to dancing with penguins or at the many big stadiums like Wembley and Twickenham.

What has been the best time as a Crystal? The best moment of being a Crystal was at Wembley when we were promoted to the Premier League in May 2013. I literally cried - I'm so proud of the boys!

What was your funniest time as a Crystal? My funniest time would also be the most embarrassing time when we were throwing t-shirts into the crowd and I accidentally threw it backwards and Dean Moxey who was warming up had to throw it to me to throw back into the crowd!!

Will you be keeping in touch with your Crystals teammates? Of course I will be keeping in contact. We are a family!

Will you be supporting Palace at games? I supported Palace before I was a Crystal so I'll be a fan even though I've left!

Do you and the Crystals read HOL? Of course I read HOL! Where else would I get my Palace updates!
