Crystal Palace staged a dramatic fightback from two goals down to win 3-2 at Sunderland.
The Eagles looked dead and buried after Jermain Defoe put the Black Cats in charge with a brace – but Palace responded in magnificent fashion through Joe Ledley, James McArthur and Christian Benteke who headed in a stoppage-time winner.
Ledley gifted Sunderland the lead six minutes before the break with a woeful pass back to James Tomkins who did not expect it and striker Defoe nipped in to poke home with a trademark finish.
Defoe added another on the hour mark when the Palace defence failed to clear their lines and Defoe rifled home unmarked from inside the area.
Palace's response was immediate and Ledley atoned for his earlier mistake by pulling a goal back for the Eagles seconds later with a drive from inside the box that deflected in off a defender.
Alan Pardew took off Martin Kelly for Zeki Fryers on 74 minutes and Fryers made an instant impression, as just two minutes later, his cross from the left was nodded in by McArthur for 2-2.
It turned out to be another excellent substitution by Pardew with the introduction of Chung-yong Lee in time added on. The South Korean floated in a free-kick by the left corner flag and Benteke rose highest to divert into the Sunderland net for a sensational winning goal.
It was his second goal of the season and Palace third successive league victory.
