Selhurst Park, Saturday 5.30pm

Team news

Crystal Palace skipper Scott Dann is back from a hamstring injury and is likely to start against the Reds in place of Damian Delaney.

Midfielder Jason Puncheon has a calf problem that forced him out of last week's match against Leicester and is a doubt. Loic Remy (thigh), Pape Soure (broken thigh bone) and Jonathan Benteke (knee) are still missing.

Liverpool trio Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane are likely to be recalled by boss Jurgen Klopp after they sat out the midweek EFL Cup game against Tottenham.

Jordan Henderson is available after completing his suspension, but James Milner (illness) is a doubt.

Quotes

Roy Hodgson

"Clean sheets are a concern for all managers. We need a little more concentration to get us over the line. They [Liverpool] play high intensity and they're quick to the ball, and that's driven by the manager, but [Brendan] Rodgers' team wasn't too dissimilar.

"Liverpool will be looking for consistency now and if you catch them on the wrong day they can be very difficult. The way the league is panning out, you have to put Liverpool in contention for the title."

Yohan Cabaye

“It will be a big game but we’re focused on it and we need to treat it the same as every other game. We just want to win it, don’t need to keep talking about it and that’s the best way.

"In the week we work on the strategy and tactics for the weekend and the manager works out the best options but then it’s up to us out there on the pitch. Sometimes it’s too easy to say we lost because of the manager or we won because of the manager.

“We are on the pitch so we have to take responsibilities for what we do and what we have done. The manager doesn’t change his mentality or the way he prepares for the match. He’s focused and gives us the confidence to play the best we can.”

Jurgen Klopp

"What a player [Christian Benteke]. We know him best because we had him all the time in training.

"In all moments he showed his quality in the areas where he's really strong. He's not only good at heading but he's especially good at heading.

"He also has good technical skills. He's a wonderful player who is now at Crystal Palace."
