Crystal Palace crashed to a 3-2 stoppage-time defeat away to Burnley.
Alan Pardew's side valiantly fought back from two down to level the scores at 2-2 but conceded a cruel goal in the final seconds to lose a fourth successive game.
The away team got off to the worst possible start by conceding inside two minutes.
Burnley broke from a Palace corner, and when the ball fell to Matt Lowton on the right, his low shot found Sam Vokes who scored after Scott Dann's goal-line clearance bobbled off Steve Mandanda.
Burnley then doubled their lead in the 14th minute after Mandanda was unable to get a strong wrist on Johann Berg Gudmundsson's fierce drive and the ball diverted into the net.
Palace went hell for leather in the second half to try and get a goal back and Pardew's double substitution – which saw the introduction of Zeki Fryers and Connor Wickham – paid off when the latter converted Wilfried Zaha's low cross on the hour mark.
The Eagles got a deserved equaliser from the penalty spot with nine minutes to go when Andros Townsend's cross was handled in the box by Lowton and Christian Benteke made no mistake from the resulting kick from 12 yards.
Palace huffed and puffed for a late winner but were dealt a sucker punch in the fourth minute of stoppage time when the Clarets again hit them on the break to score through Ashley Barnes.
Townsend stuck the post in the final seconds but the Eagles were defeated in another defensive horror show and have let in 10 goals from the last three matches.
