Christian Benteke: Came closest to scoring for Palace with a header which hit the post.

Crystal Palace's final game of the season ended in defeat, losing 2-0 to a young Manchester United side at Old Trafford.

Two goals in the first half were enough for the Red Devils to secure all three points, as Palace's season ended on a low.

Josh Harrop, making his debut for Manchester United, scored the first on 15 minutes, cutting inside Martin Kelly and firing a shot past Wayne Hennessey with worrying ease.

Four minutes later, Jesse Lingard found Paul Pogba in the box, and he fired home to make it 2-0 to the home side.

In the second half Christian Benteke came the closest to reducing the deficit when he headed a Wilfried Zaha cross against the post.

The result meant that the Eagles finished 14th in the Premier League, earning them £13.3m in prize money.

Palace: Hennessey, Ward, Kelly, Tomkins, Schlupp, Zaha (Campbell 79), Milivijevic, McArthur (Sako 61), Puncheon, Van Aanholt (Kaikai 67), C. Benteke.

Subs: Speroni, Dann, Lee, Wan-Bissaka.
