Crystal Palace still await the season's first league goal and points after losing 2-0 at home to Swansea City.
It was a deserved victory for the Welsh side who won their first league game of the season against a disappointing Eagles.
Manager Frank de Boer made one change from the Premier League defeat at Liverpool, with James McArthur replacing the injured Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
The midfielder joined fellow new boy Jairo Riedewald and talisman Wilfried Zaha on the Palace treatment table.
James Tomkins added his name to that list after limping off with a muscle problem in the 41st minute following a rash shot over the bar.
In a first half devoid of any excitement, the Swans took the lead just a minute before the break through Tammy Abraham after he held off Tomkins' replacement Martin Kelly with a low finish.
After the interval, Kelly should have done better with a free header from an Eagles corner.
Kelly was involved in Swansea's second goal in the 48th minute when he was robbed by Kyle Naughton on the halfway line and Naughton fed an on-side Jordan Ayew to score past Wayne Hennessey.
Andros Townsend and substitute Yohan Cabaye were unlucky not to score with some decent efforts at goal as Palace tried to claw their way back.
However, they succumbed to their third defeat from the opening three league games – for the first time in the top flight.
