Crystal Palace got their first points of the season with a 2-1 home success over champions Chelsea.
Going into the game, bottom club Palace were without a goal or a point from their first seven matches of the season.
But Wilfried Zaha – on his return from injury – inspired the Eagles to a deserved victory that now gives them renewed hope of getting out of relegation trouble.
They started in a positive fashion and grabbed their first goal of the campaign in the 11th minute when Yohan Cabaye's effort went in off Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta.
Seven minutes later, however, Chelsea were on level terms as Tiemoue Bakayoko was left relatively unchallenged to head Cesc Fabregas' corner beyond the recalled Julian Speroni.
Roy Hodgson's side got a crucial second goal on the stroke of half-time through Zaha, who latched on to Mamadou Sakho's feed to slot into the bottom corner.
Fabregas clipped the bar after the break, but the Eagles could have added more goals with Patrick van Aanholt, in particular, missing a glorious opportunity.
Palace stay at the foot of the table but are three points away from moving out of the bottom three after this morale-boosting win.
