Crystal Palace fought back from a goal down to win 2-1 away at Southampton.
Palace have now gone five games unbeaten away to equal the club's Premier League record and reach the giddy heights of 14th.
The players looked sluggish in the first half, which was not surprising, given they had given 110 per cent just 48 hours earlier to hold league leaders Manchester City.
Southampton, with an extra days' rest, dominated possession in the opening period and almost took the lead straight from kick-off but Shane Long blasted over.
Eagles stopper Wayne Hennessey then pulled of a brilliant stretching save to palm away Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's long-range strike.
And in the 17th minute, the Saints went ahead through Long who converted a neat turn and shot from Jeremy Pied's low cross on the right.
Andros Townsend then rifled a 30-yarder that former Palace keeper Alex McCarthy dealt with as the half closed out.
Patrick van Aanholt replaced a tired Yohan Cabaye at the break and Palace upped the tempo as Christian Benteke called McCarthy into action with a low save.
And they levelled the scores in the 69th minute after Van Aanholt's free-kick on the left, which was headed back into the mixer by Benteke, and James McArthur volleyed in his fifth goal of the season.
Palace continued to press for another and ended up sealing maximum points 10 minutes from time through Luka Milivojevic. The Serbian collected the ball from sub Bakary Sako and curled a fine 25-yard shot into the bottom left corner for his fifth of the camapign.
Wilfried Zaha could have got a third in the closing stages from Hennessey's long kick but ballooned over from six yards.
