Crystal Palace claimed a huge three points in their battle to beat the drop with a 2-0 win at Huddersfield Town.
The victory moves them out of the relegation zone and on to 30 points as they go in search of Premier League survival.
Roy Hodgson's men raced out of the traps and had a number of attempts on goal with Luka Milivojevic coming closest with a free-kick just wide.
Palace were dealt another injury blow after Jeffrey Schlupp had to be replaced by Yohan Cabaye on 21 minutes after he hobbled off following a crunch challenge.
But they grabbed the opening goal two minutes later through James Tomkins from a Milivojevic corner that he prodded in at the second attempt after keeper Jonas Lossl had initially saved.
Tomkins almost netted another on the hour mark but his shot at the far post from a dangerous Andros Townsend corner was hacked off the line by Town's Steve Mounie.
Palace extended their lead in the 68th minute with a penalty after Martin Jorgenson's mistimed tackle on Twonsend in the box. Milivojevic smashed the spot-kick beyond Lossl's reach to score his eighth goal of the campaign.
Cabaye went close with two shots towards the end of the encounter; the first landed on the roof of the net, while Lossl pushed out his second strike as the Eagles claimed a big win.
