Crystal Palace lost 4-3 away to title-chasing Liverpool at Anfield.

Roy Hodgson's side gave the league leaders a major scare and frustrated the Reds for most of the game.

The Eagles took a shock lead, against the run of play, with their first effort on goal in the 34th minute. Patrick van Aanholt fed Wilfried Zaha on the left who glided past James Milner and he cut back for Andros Townsend to hit first time into the net.

Liverpool drew level after to a large slice of luck in the opening minute of the second half as Virgil van Dijk's shot from range hit James McArthur and looped into Mo Salah's path and he tapped home.

Seven minutes later, Liverpool got their noses in front after Firmino's deflected shot spun beyond Julian Speroni into the corner of the net.

But Palace equalised in the 64th minute thanks to James Tomkins' header from a Luka Milivojevic corner.

In the 75th minute, the Reds regained their lead after a howler from Speroni who hooked Milner's cross into his own net with Salah poking over the line.

Liverpool went down to 10 men in the 89th minute when Milner was shown a second yellow card for a rash tackle on Zaha.

Sadio Mane added a fourth in the third minute of stoppage time with a cool finish on the break with the Eagles pushing for a late goal.

And Palace got a third goal to make it 4-3 in the fifth minute of time added-on with a strike from substitute Max Meyer.
