Palace suffer derby defeat to Brighton

Crystal Palace crashed to a 2-1 derby loss at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Eagles dominated throughout but again failed to find a killer instinct in front of goal to continue their woeful scoring record at home.

They've netted just 11 goals in 15 league games at Selhurst Park with only bottom club Huddersfield scoring fewer.

It was no surprise to see former striker Glenn Murray find the opening goal after 19 minutes when he capitalised on James Tomkins' bad headed clearance to volley beyond Vicente Guaita.

Palace levelled from the spot on 50 minutes through Luka Milivojevic – his eighth penalty of the season – after Davy Propper had tripped Andros Townsend.

But Anthony Knockaert's fine, curling strike for 2-1 in the 76th minute gave Brighton their first win at Palace since 2005.

Palace: Guaita, Van Aanholt, Tomkins, Dann, Wan-Bissaka, Schlupp, Milivojevic, McArthur (Benteke 77), Zaha, Townsend (Meyer 77), Batshuayi.

Not used: Speroni, Kelly, Ward, Kouyate, Ayew.

Brighton: Ryan, Bernardo, Dunk, Duffy, Montoya, Propper, Stephens, Bissouma, Jahanbakhsh (Locadia 90), Murray, Knockaert (March 75).

Not used: Button, Bong, Burn, Kayal, Izquierdo.
