We've handled him really poorly this summer - feels like we're sacrificing his development (with another loan) to plug the glaring holes in our squad. If he can't get PL minutes with Olise and Franca injured, he's certainly not going to get any once their fit, so it's a baffling decision to not loan him out.

For every supporter that thinks he should have gone out on another loan there's probably another that says he should stay and wait for his chance.

My point is we're stuck between the two at the moment - we didn't loan him out, but aren't playing him either, which is the worst option for a player of his age.

Only difference is that Olise had Championship experience under his belt and was touted as one of hte hottest prospects outside of the Prem.

Not that he cant or wont get there, but JRS isn't at that level yet.

IMO games in the championship is the quickest way for him to get there. Not the odd 5 mins here and there

Indeed they were , because there was a lot space in front of Mitchell to overload into . Im not questioning Ayews application ,he just wasnt on it as normal (a charge that could be levelled at others ) which isn't suprising as the game was a lost cause before it had even begun

The club should be ashamed of themselves, they are sacrificing his development by paying him sit-down money so he can polish his rump in order to make up the numbers on the bench, he is woefully out of his depth when allowed in to the game for a couple of minutes. The lad is clearly a long way from being anywhere near EPL standard and should be out on loan in the championship earning his spurs. Exposing him to the EPL when he is not ready will destroy his confidence and in all probability ruin him. I know many on here think is the messiah and the answer to all our problems but in reality nothing could be further from the truth.

My thoughts are that we might need him whilst Franca and Olise are crocked. When those two are back, he'll probably be sent out on loan in January.

Last night cemented my view that he ain't anywhere near good enough yet. Needs to perform well in the Championship for a full season to see if he's up to it. If so, he will have earned his chance. He's got a long way to go until he's on par with the likes of Olise, Eze, Ayew and presumably Franca.

From the short cameos I've seen of Ebiowei, I think he looks a better prospect.
