This person was giving a speech outlining ITV policy on future recruitment. There is no hiding blatant prejudice and racism here of the real kind. This isn't hurty words. This is a policy of discrimination. Racism in its purest form.

Speculation based on the same kind of prejudice that she is accused of. Who knows if there has been some kind of ethnic targeting imposed on them which is in danger of being breached. That would be as wrong in my eyes but could explain what appears to be an unfortunate remark by an individual.

I believe in countering racism and exposing hypocrisy, alongside many of the more obnoxious views held by the hard-right fringe. A fringe which is only too evident here. I am addressing the tiny minority who cling to outdated ideas and choose to congregate here because it’s one of the few places where their biases can be confirmed.

I doubt whether any of them meant it literally. The only one being pilloried is the lady involved in the current matter. The only one who has not had her explanation heard.

That's not as clever a way as you might think to try and cover up the promulgation of nonsense when it is exposed.
