Even a liar tells the truth if its to his advantage. He's not saying anything outlandish here. He's outlining an obvious reality.

For BJ now to shift to a position that 'he didn't know' this was against the rules, when he's the one who laid them out shows complete contempt for the general public. The contrast between tens of people knocking back drinks while they dictate to others that they're not even allowed to spend time with dying loved ones or properly mourn them is a disgrace.

A genuine apology is and has always been beyond him. He views himself as a different breed. Always has done. Strip away the 'lovable buffoon' persona and there's hardly a people person or indeed a capable politician underneath.
