Johnson with his 'no one told me the parties were against the rules' reveals a deeper truth behind how government works. People see Johnson and SAGE fronts on the telly and they assume that the buck stops with Johnson and him alone because that's how the system wants Joe Public to think. However, what's more true....and what Cummings wanted to change....is that institutions like the civil service control the system much more. Indeed, even above them the unelected global capital via corporations, banks and bodies exact much more influence than the normie is told.....Which is that Johnson is more a front....He could be more like Thatcher, as in forcing more control....but the reality is he's more interested in being Boris. The system is just as dishonest as the Chinese one.....though thankfully our ancestors believed in far more freedom within it....something their current versions are throwing away as if it were a poisoned chalice. I think part of Brexit was an implicit recognition and rejection of this oversized globalised control.....a desire to level the balance of power somewhat. Many Brexiteers have been disappointed at how unwilling Johnson has actually been to see through the implication of Brexit and instead he and his chums have 'reinterpret' Brexit in terms that most pleases globalism. Odds update. Now 3/10 to go this year, so by no means a certainty, but the tide is turning against him somewhat. I think his position is approaching untennable, but at the same time who exactly is there to replace him? Rishi Sunak is currently clear favourite!?
