Regarding VAR, and that stat that no ref has overturned it this season, it seems obvious to me that players will be encouraged to "try it on", knowning that if it goes to VAR there is a very good chance of the cheat being rewarded by referees who don't have the balls to challenge the VAR master. He who holds the VAR key can dictate the game. This is a very dodgy state of affairs.

Obviously I don't know the thinking of Craig Pawson in determining that it was a "Clear and obvious error" but I believe it is feasible that he concluded that there was a coming together and Guaita used his left arm to push Jota to the ground.Others of course have viewed this incident differently !

We do, absolutely nothing will happen to them, other than a pat on the back for helping Liverpools cause and quite possibly a nice little bonus

Friend been demoted to Championship for Millwall game. Presumably be back when PL reconvenes. Don’t know why they bother

Well if the ref is always going to (or be instructed to) accept the VAR decision, what the heck is the point of them wasting time reviewing the action on the pitch-side monitor? Is it to add to the excitement for the fans? It should be like in cricket where the Decision Review System is final. It would save a lot of time if the ref didn’t have to fanny about pretending he might actually uphold his original call.

Or better still just scrap VAR.
