Irrespective of what players arrive before the end of the window, he should stay.
We are not generally overrun with depth in the squad and I can never understand the annual loaning out of virtually all the young players who may be on the cusp, when as now, we have collected a number of injuries.

I can, it’s quite simple, as I keep saying, no matter how much they big them up, once they start sending them out on loan it’s because they’re not good enough for the premier league and the only reason we don’t let them go on permanent transfers is just incase the worst happens and we fall through the trap door and end up back in the championship, they might just about be good enough for that division and we’ll need them to bulk out the squad

Like it or not JRS is at an important point in his development, he needs game time and he needs to build up his confidence and game skills. The latter cannot be achieved sitting on the bench just to make up the squad numbers getting the odd few minutes here and there, in actual fact that could have the opposite effect and end up destroying him.

He needs to go the the Championship and prove himself and continue his development, he really is not ready for EPL football at this time, if he was then there would be a whole host of EPL clubs knocking at the door wanting him either as a permanent fixture or as a loanee.

Yes. Also the suggestion that the Championship is no preparation for the premiership seem to overlook very good recent acquisitions from that division.

Anyone who thinks that Leicester would be a bad loan are probably wrong unless they think he is only good enough for the odd cameo. In which case, he would not likely be good enough for us.

He needs regular game time at this point in his development.

That means earning selections and starting games. He won't be getting much more than the odd cameo appearance at Palace.

So I would loan him out, hopefully on the back of a couple more players being signed.

Its about deciding what's best for his development. Outside the first bit of the season Olise started every game last year, and played the whole 90 in most of those.

Its safe to assume he'll do the same again this year

After his loan at Charlton it’s certain JRS is a better than average prospect, everyone can see that. What we can’t see is how he stands up in full blooded training sessions with the first team squad. And what happens there is what will determine what’s best for him, he is only twenty , plenty of time for him. So many top players have reached the top via loans, one or two via Palace loans, some recent , but remember a young full back called Cole ,a few years back. The idea that he should be kept on the bench mainly because we have no one else is a bit sad as far as I’m concerned, his progress has to be purely on his actual ability anything else is going nowhere for him or the club.
I would like the squad to be thickened out with two or three players of some experience, and JRS only kept here if his performances in training show someone that can claim a place and expect to get enough minutes to warrant his inclusion.

I believe he should go on loan for his own benefit. However, the only scenario where it would be sensible to keep him is if we don’t buy a winger and Olise is likely to be out for another couple of months in which case we might as well keep hold for now and send him on loan in Jan window.

Agree, and additionally the loan system helps develop the player both mentally and physically, something the U21s can't offer.

JRS has clearly benefitted from his season at Charlton. In the early games he looked a little lost, unsure what his role was and out muscled by a few defenders. Later in the season his movement looked much better. To play 40 odd games in a season and score 15 goals is a great return.

A brilliant example is Conor Gallagher. Nowhere need good enough for Chelsea, but after mixed loans at Charlton, Swansea and WBA he then had his great season with us. So we sent back and England international. So in 3 seasons you can see his development via the loan system.

Iheanacho? Good call. Swap plus cash. Say £10m
