Le Mans is always a place for extremely bad crashes. There was a time when down the main strait cars lifted off a bit like that one.

Le mans is always bad with cars with a massive surface area underneath going very fast. Can't compare to the 1950 odd crash when a car lifted in to the crowd and basically cut/decapitated loads of people. Gruesome
