I understand your thinking but I find it odd that a club that claims to be going places sells one of their most "iconic" players. He and Zaha have been what Palace has been about the last few years and what has made us entertaining to watch. Regardless of stat's Bolasie has been a key ingredient in our success and to sell him at his peak represents a return to the dark days for me.
Obviously I hope this all works out for us and we spend the money on players who will take us further but I will only believe that when it happens and I will think very long and hard about wasting my hard earned money on attending games if we go down.

But if we get Niasse on loan, and £25M we can use to get Benteke, his move could result in us getting 2 strikers and we have Townsend as a replacement for him anyway. Who you could argue is an upgrade in some ways (if not for unpredictability).

Pardew just said at his press conference that there will be no ins or outs until the weekend at least and regarding Bolasie there is "nothing concrete", same with Benteke.

Surely the dark days were Administration! What CPFC2010 have achieved since quite simply has to be applauded.
Palace cannot stand still, players are commodities whether they are iconic or not and they all have a price in todays over inflated market.
All SP can try and do is target the replacement players that fit our exacting requirements and try and get them in.
Yes we played entertaining football last season but failed to win more games through lack of goals.
The transfer fee quoted for Yala represents a very good return, we have already invested in AT who looks a fantastic buy and if we also get Benteke over the line we will have improved our strike force options no end.
