Obviously there are groupings, it's not like there are actually 17.4 million different tangible reasons – clearly being said to exaggerate – but the broader point stands, and it's one I keep banging on about. Every leave voter seems to think their reason/version of brexit represents the view of the other 17.4m. 'We'. Same for remain. Stop being so idiotic.

Regarding evidence? Look it up. There are various sources, from polling sites to consultancy research that are continually being done now, and were done at the time.

I can't believe that you genuinely think that everyone who voted in the Referendum, either leave or remain, all did so for exactly the same reason (eg. immigration), and or the same outcome (e.g. WTO).

You can even do this yourself. Go to a leave area and ask 100 people what they expected when they voted – WTO, EEA/Norway, some form of negotiated deal, etc. The chance that every single person will say Immigration and WTO is ridiculous.

Even now, polling is split as to what leave voters want. WTO, Canada, EEA, Mays Deal, No Deal, even a second ref.

I despair

Not sure if it's more cognitive dissonance or simple narrow mindedness but I did notice same people argue that we don't need immigration to fill skills gap then on another debate question why the taxpayer should invest in higher level education.

I did grin to myself when I read a post by the most narrow minded person on this forum calling others narrow minded

Free higher tuition was abolished some 20 years ago by the Labour Government of the time. Please try and keep up

I think that's a common feeling whether Remainer or Brexiteer as neither side are happy at the moment

You mean as opposed to every other vote/election where every single person votes for the same reasons? Why don’t you do this vox pop and report back.

Agreed, but I'm not really bothered about what happens with Brexit now, it's just become a borefest that will result in an outcome over which I have no influence. I had a preference but frankly why worry about it until something concrete has emerged. You'll just turn into a bitter, resentful hermit, living in self-exile. Wait a minute...

What I am bothered about is people claiming their view is identical of the views of 17.4 million others when there is clear evidence that shows it's complete nonsense. It's also pretty stupid. If any group of people that big vote for anything they don't all do it with the same reason for doing so / expectation of outcome.

I would have thought that was obvious but then I'm never surprised by the lack of intellect on this forum.

Fine. You draw your inferences and I’ll draw mine. That’s how it works. At the moment anyway.

Er – OK.

Or just do some basic, fact based research?

No I don’t. I’ve said I’m not as intellectually gifted as some posters.
