I can't believe that we are a week away from the opening game and have no attacking options up front or through the middle. We don't appear to have any ambition.

Let's keep the ball this season!

We (rightly) prioritised a striker this time last year. In January and now we are equally correctly prioritising defence. Palace are showing a realistic ammount of ambition for a fairly small club in PL terms.

Without getting dramatic, we are short of attacking options with Wickham out until at least November (probably), but I imagine it will be addressed within the next few weeks unless FdB has seen something in any of the youngsters that we've missed. We really can't afford to enter September with Bentenke as our only fit first-team striker though. That would be a bit like last summer when everyone said we needed a backup for Souare and then....

Jeez...some people on here "no ambition". Since when was having a striker better than Benteke in our list of things to do?

3 of those are starters, the other one is useless, any injuries to the good 3 and we are struggling to have reasonable cover for them, although i agree that the OP is being OTT with the 'no ambition' remark

We have one backup striker at the moment, we also have strikers in our reserve team that can cover if need be. Our problem over the last couple seasons has not been in our attack, but our fragility in defense. It would be nice to sign a new striker, but the priority has to be on improving our defense.
