Hopefully the noise around Wilf won’t be too distracting. But it usually is. Brentford are a decent team. 1-1.

a premier league game. If we do not give respect to the Bees they will sting us. ManUre learned that lesson the hard way.

nevertheless, i am quietly optimistic.

3-0 Palace

Eze Peasy at Anfield....

I think we will win but it will be tight so just the one goal in it.

I think we will suffer a hangover from Saturday and disruption from the Zaha situation, 2-0 to Brentford I'm afraid.

2-2 They are a good side Brentford. I thought last year they tried to kick Wilf off the park and their Norwegian player in the middle was lucky not to see red. Again poor officiating let us down….

Brentford are quite accomplished, they have scored in every game they have played this season and I expect them to get something from this game.
It would not surprise me if the final score was 1-1.

We have played well this season and I have a feeling Wilf will be back as he was training last week even though he didn't play on Saturday, so the injury can't be that bad. If he plays I think we will flourish and win 2-0. If he doesn't play I still think we'll grind out a 1-0 win.

I'm going for an uncharacteristically optimistic 2/3-1 Palace.

It's an odd and unfamiliar feeling I have these days of us being the 'old heads' in the PL but I am somewhat hopeful our top-level experience will dominate against Brentford's plucky little side that can! They may well nick a goal however I am hoping we will do the same... more so.

I am hoping for a bit of a reaction with some venom after the weekend however well aware this does not always turn out to be the case.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

They're a good side, but we really need to be targetting 3 points.

VG

Clyne
Andersen
Guehi
Richards
Schlupp

Doucoure
Hughes

Eze
Mateta
Olise

Assuming Wilf is out, I'd like to see us give the 5-2-3 another run out and put Jeff at LWB to give us a left-footer out there.

Feeling 1-1.

Not a bad suggestion at all HBPalace!

For my two cents on that formation:

VG

Clyne, Ward, Guehi, Andersen, Schlupp

Doucoure Hughes

Olise Mateta Eze

I do however expect the '5 at the back' to be played against the 'bigger' sides so we may well see the 4-3-3 tonight. On that presumption, and that if 'no Wilf' my personal preference would be:

VG

Clyne Guehi Andersen (Not sure really, perhaps Ward? or Clyne with Ward other side??, maybe Jeff?)

Doucoure, Hughes

Eze

Olise, Mateta, Ayew/Malcolm (I'm a big fan) but probably Edouard (boo)

Brentford are no wally's and will provide a stern test. We'll have to be at our best, and I think we will. 2-0 Palace.

-----------Guaita-----------
Ward--Andersen--Guehi--Mitchell
---------Doucoure-----------
------Eze---------Schlupp---
Olise------Mateta------Zaha

The 5-2-3 formation others have suggested is simply too negative with no wing backs, for a game like this where we are expected to win. This will employed against the 'big 6' only.
