Thanks for posting that. Interesting read - particularly for old timers like me.

89/90 was a particularly good year for new first team players, and Andy Johnson 1,15m from Birmingham was fantastic, probably the only good thing Trevor Francis did as manager.
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

I always thought Johnson was part of the deal that saw Clinton Morrison move to Birmingham , Cant remember the exact details but sure we got cash and AJ for Clinton .
And we still need a striker |

All the transfer fees seem a little high to me - are they £ or Euro? When Clinton went to Brum and we took AJ as a makeweight i think the total deal was £4.25m. Clinton was £3.5m in cash and AJ a mere £750k. When we bought Clinton back i think it was for £2m, potentially with a few add ons.

Blimey Teddy, thanks for that, it’s a great read seeing it all in one place like that. I’ve often wondered in my now 48 years of being a fan, how many players I’ve actually seen pull on the shirt.

We paid 600k for Calvin Andrew. Award for most humourous transfer: Camapana. (Can't be bothered to do his name properly, much like he couldn't be bothered to train or play properly).
