Anybody remember this being sung to the tune of Knees of Mother Brown when Man Utd had a problem with one of their staff who was banging somebody's wife?

Yes, I remember this. It relates to when Tommy Docherty brought a very poor Wolves team to Selhurst in 1985. He had been previously sacked as Man U manager, after they won the FA Cup in 1977, when it came to light that he was having an affair with the physios wife, a certain Mary Brown. Hence the song, except it began with ,Whos Up,

I recall 'Knees up mother Brown' being sung on the Holmesdale Terrace many, many years ago and supporters used to cascade downwards and sometimes fall over !

I don't think Palace fans can claim to have originated this though. My own memory tells me that it was the cop at Liverpool who first sang this in a match toward the end of the 1976-1977 season when Man Utd and Tommy Docherty were the visitors. Edited by Pete53 (28 Aug 2013 10.23pm)

Don't remember that but I remember: "Who's up Peter Ward, who's up Peter Ward,
Goodness is what you do. Not who you pray to. |
