Seems very unfair to me for people to keep blaming Roy for bringing Olise on against Brighton. The player was deemed fit by the medical staff, otherwise he wouldn't have been on the bench. As far as the manager was concerned, therefore, he was OK to play (and I suspect that if he hadn't brought him on, critics would have complained about his timid tactics)

This recent injury setback lands squarely at the feet of Hodgson. He claims he doesn't benefit from hindsight, when a bit of common sense would have been all that was required. Why risk your best player when you're 3-0 at halftime ? I doubt he was properly warmed up and he ends up sprinting for a loose ball that what was a lost cause and pulls up. If anything he should have been told to get showered at halftime and to forget about the 2nd half. I haven't read or heard one single Palace fan who thinks it was worth the risk.

It seems some people just want to blame Hodgson for everything. Wrong for bringing him on, but would have been wrong if he didn't. Especially once we had got it back to 1-3.
The major problem is not Olise's injury, it's the lack of suitable options from the bench and the fact we are reliant upon the mercurial talents of two injury prone players. For that blame SP and the board. They are totally responsible for the entire mess of this season.
Roy is the scapegoat, hung out to dry as he is the only one that we can blame and sacking him is the only thing that can be done to change it. I suspect we will do that (eventually) and watch ourselves tumble out the league as a new manager will be bound by the same ineffective attacking options.
As for Olise. Will be a big question mark over his fitness, he will have missed 3/4 of the season. Man Utd or Chelsea may just be desperate enough to spend vast amounts of money on him to appease the fans. And I feel very sorry if he goes to either of those basket case clubs.
Still I don't suppose he'll fancy plying his trade in the championship either or even hang around if we do stay up and the board show the complete lack of ambition again.
I think SP and the board have completely thrown away all the good work that has been done over the last 10 seasons.
Supporters, potential managers and the media have rumbled our lack of ambition and I suspect we are in the situation where next season we will need to rip up and start again, whatever division we are in.

His Release clause was quoted at 60m, and if he is fit on July 1st i can see 4 or 5 clubs willing to pay that.
