Not quite sure how to word this but, what if he (BFS) is the one?

I remember thinking that Veneballs[sic] and his vision of the team of the eighties was the one.

Later I remember looking at "Stevie, Stevie Coppell on the bench" as the one.

Recently that small hardened part of me that still believes in the dream was getting a semi over "Aaal, suuper Aaal" in the prodigal role.

What if all these de/i/llusions where there just to prepare me/us for this time of great, possibly very great, changes of fortunes for the mighty Red & Blue.

What if he's not a "very naughty boy" and is indeed "The messiah"?

Huh?

Had we gone for Mancini and Lombardo I'd have been much happier, but now we're stuck with BFS ffs!! & am very disappointed in Sp

Lol were never going to get them. Plus they don't have experience of relegation battles in prem so Sam is what we need right now. If they were interested then summer last year would've been right time for gamble, not now.

Most of our managers have done the business for long enough to see the near term objectives through. After that it can generally go wrong. I think that's a general trend in football these days. Players tend to tail off performing for the manager.

As for 'the one', it's a managerial job not a romance and lifelong marriage. Be very successful and they're likely take a bigger job anyway. Look at Southampton. Constantly finding gems everywhere and they move on. Players and managers. But they're always looking for the replacements in 2 years from the newcomer starting.

My guess is Sam will do alright for 18 months and possibly either he gets poached, we want him to leave or signing players becomes difficult with only 1 year left on his contract. Maybe it'll be longer but I wouldn't count on it and who cares anyway? If the board start thinking ahead of these things it's less of a problem. When he goes maybe Gary Monk or Rowett will be safer for us then, or even a young foreign coach if we've done any homework by then.

If he took us where he took notloB I don't think there'd be too many complaints.

Hey I've got a radical idea. Why don't we just wait and see.

Nah, slate him now before a ball is kicked, say how sh1t he'll be and how sh1t the football will be, how he'll rip the team apart even though he's said the squad is good but needs some additions, whereas Pardew never tore the actual guts out of the side did he, and super al was surely about to turn it round after 6 wins in a whole year and beyond criticism.

The irony is quite something. Doing exactly what we were criticised for after months and months of repeated lack of respect for the league and now this manager gets the same, almost hoping it goes wrong before 1 match. Good thing this doesn't happen at matches.

Sorry to hear that but it looks like you're in the very small minority. Perhaps a few good results might change your mind .
