Plusnet. Been with them for years. No problems, good customer service and internet seem fast but never checked the speed. Not a gamer but watching sky sports on the app is good. Check them out, they’ll do you proud.

funny enough speed wise i would say virgin media, unless you can get bt fibre the rest are a bit blaaargh, the only downside with virgin apart from the price, crap customer service & the viaducts is their superhub 3 is crap, if you just use it as a modem and buy your own router its much better Edited by thegreatlardino (29 Aug 2018 6.22pm)

Depends what is available in your area and the price you want to pay also how you use it.

Your distance to that company's exchange is more important.

Although I live out in the sticks, once BT aka ‘Openreach’ had fibered the village up right nice, internet speeds went through the roof. I’ve stuck with BT and (apologies all) I actually find them quite good and the service pretty reliable.

Few providers can supply unlimited p*** from a British nuclear submarine. Try Putinnet with a free comprehensive online guide to UK and USA elections thrown in.

Depends what your requirements are. I use mine for: catch up TV, Now TV, streaming music, browsing, email etc. - no gaming or Netflix. And I'm more than happy with no broadband at all! I use mobile WiFi. 40Gb for £17/month (Three), in a credit card sized unit you can take anywhere. Love it. Edited by Harpo (30 Aug 2018 4.55pm)

According to Which magazine Plusnet is the best provider, however it rather depends on what your priority is. Which uses some of these as their key areas to judge: I am with BT the service is fast and reliable and almost never goes down. BT customer service however is poor but as I don't need to call them because they are reliable it is not a consideration. I look at value for money and TV content as the key factors. BT is expensive and the TV content is so so. I have not switched because I am waiting for Sky to fully launch their non Satellite service. I may then switch to that when my contract runs out as I expect they will be stronger in those areas or I may stay if BT decides to compete.
