We need to freshen things up best we can, players & formation, start playing to strengths, give the defence some cover, forward players in an area where they can make something happen, early crosses into the box, play with tempo, quicker ball speed. I would like to see a 4,2,3,1 formation and if all fit this line up Clyne. Tompkins Cahilll PVA McArthur Kouyate Eze Riedeweld. Zaha Benteke Subs - Guaita, Kelly, Ward, Mitchell, Luca, MaCarthy, Bats, JMP, Ayew Fullbacks push on knowing we have two midfielders sitting to cover, Zaha, Eze can work off Benteke,, Reideweld provides further cover and the three and the one can stop Wolves from playing out from the back, win the ball higher up the field. Take quick throws, free kicks, stop teams getting set like they all do to us.

Traore took PvA apart in the cup, so I'd stick with Mitchell who at least tries to defend. If Tomkins is fit he has to start and I'd put Kouyate alongside him providing he's got his head screwed back on again. Clyne is quicker than Ward so I'd start him with Wolves being a counter-attacking team. Beyond anything else I just want to see Luka dropped. He had as big a hand as anyone in Tuesday's sh!t show. Slow in possession, slow thinking and just slow, slow, slow. At least McCarthy has bite and gets around the pitch. Personally I'd play Jairo as we need someone in the middle who can pass and if you watch him he always gets his head up and looks forward, and also makes space for himself - he's one of the few players who has any movement these days. Townsend hasn't had many good games this season. If fit I'd also just throw Mateta straight in and get him up and running while he's still buzzing off his move to the PL. Clyne Tomkins Kouyate Mitchell Jairo McCarthy McArthur Eze Wilf Mateta Roy will probably put out the same team, we'll all complain, and then we'll beat Wolves. When we are at our most despondent is when we seem to get results these days!

Buckland, Back four needs (and I mean needs) a defensive 3 in front of them with Zaha and Eze wide midfield. Won’t happen, but that’s the only way we might get a result in our favour?

What id like Guaita Subs; Butland, Cahill, Woods, JMac, Luka, McCarthy, Ayew, Tekkers, Bats. What we WILL get, is same starters v WH.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

I think McArthur will need a rest. I would like to see a midfield 3 of Kouyate, Reidewald and PVA with Wilf and Eze playing off Bats. Tight at the back and play on the break, what we were always good at.
