On a side note, share prices in energy companies shot up after the Queen's speech. Tells you all you need to know about who the government's energy policies will benefit.

FTSE250 on the whole picked up. Sterling also rallied nearly a cent on Euro and Dollar. Financial Markets liked it.

Well if he did he was totally wrong. I consistently said I thought the Tories would be the largest party and probably win a majority.

Demos are far easier to attend when you are unemployed.

I go on demos costs me a days wages. But i think its worth it to.participate.in the illusion of democracy. It at least feels like your trying

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

I'm told you were most disappointed that it wasn't a Day of Rape.

No not really. It's as much a leap of faith as to say a majority voted for one particular Brexit route in last year's referendum. Or that a majority voted to leave the single market. Actually it's less of a leap of faith than that. It's a clear rejection of austerity and Tory mismanagement over the last 7 years. More than 54% of voters chose parties who are diametrically opposed to austerity, with this as the central plank of their manifestos.

I like Tim Farron's joke today that the Tories only announced a Space Bill so that they could send their manifesto up into space and hope everyone forgot it existed.

In terms of Brexit, clearly it wasn't a big issue and most people have accepted it's going to happen, but more people again voted against May's hard Brexit, her tautologies and foolish soundbites.

You're even arguing against yourself in one post in your desperation to make the election about what you think it was (or should have been) about. It was all about austerity, because you say it was. It wasn't at all about brexit, but also hard brexit was clearly rejected.

My head hurts.

Classic deflection to moan about the protesters rather than examining what it is they're protesting about.

So what are they protesting about exactly?

My personal problem is I have NO idea what they are protesting about! A "day of rage" seems more than a little woolly - come out onto the streets and be angry. If I knew what I am supposed to be angry about, I might be more on board
