The old hippy protesters of prior decades would be spinning in their graves if they could see these tw*ts now. Protesting in the 60s and 70s against the Vietnam War and the Jim Crow South in the U.S., were undoubtedly righteous causes, whatever one may think of the protesters themselves. Safe space being that they have to pay for their education like the previous generation have? Or them believing they are taxed too much, without realising they come under the Tax allowance. I do see pickets like S*ck your mum, Theresa. and Bring down the Government. Like any of that will happen. Looks as though there are about 100-200 people there judging from Sky news pictures. No chance of getting a house / flat because wages are s***. They've been through a s***storm of exam changes mid course at school, They're the first generation for a long time that will be worse off than their parents. If you want to train to go into public service, nurse, plod, teacher etc you've got to get into a s*** load of debt. If you want a good job you probably need a degree with the debts involved, if academia isn't your bag, where are the training schemes or apprenticeships (I moaned about yts but do know a few people who did well out of it career wise). I could add more. No wonder many of the young have got the hump (but it's easier to dismiss glibly as we have seen on this thread) than to try and see things from their perspective.

I left school in 2006, EMA was £30 a week it is something but hardly something to keep you in school, it also ended 5-6 years ago so many of those in school now wouldn't even of known about it. I left school as I was disillusioned after my GCSE results and thought 6th form was a waste of time as I wouldn't get into my University courses. Took a year out and worked in Sports Direct, kinda believed that would be where I stayed. Started going in to interviews just to present myself and started in a financial advisors firm as a desk assistant. From there I worked my way up. My new job next month I will be going into management of a trading floor for a broker, something I have aspired to do since I started my first job. As much as I believe we need more funding towards education. I still believe apprenticeships are very important, as I wouldn't be where I am now if it wasn't for that kind of set up.

Justifiable: A non-violent protest of exorbitant education costs. Silly: Blocking traffic for hours because a conservative politician somewhere wore a parka with a hood and it was a misappropriation of Eskimo culture.

We've bred a generation that understands computers and the internet but is shockingly politically naïve and illiterate. Ask them to apply correct spelling and grammar, add, subtract and divide without a calculator and navigate with just a map, they're f*cked. Even the music they produce is sh*te. A generation of entitled little ponces.

Yes, there as a point. But it was ill thought out, unattainable, and at the outset was presented to the public in a deceptive manner. And now "Vietnam" has become a metaphor for any large scale military cluster-f*kc.
