Nowhere near as disgraceful as being the Captain of your National team and planning, then carrying out pre-meditated cheating. He should’ve been banned from the game for a minimum of 5 years! No way has he served his time, the ban was wholly inadequate and to be allowed to come back to first class cricket after such a short space of time is so very wrong. He is a shocking cheat, plain and simple and will always be known as one and he should be reminded of that at every opportunity. The English are just as bad with their boiled sweets and using those on the ball, no doubt most countries have done similar stuff, it’s hardly bloody match fixing. Athertion’s dirt on the ball is pretty much the same thing anyway but you conveniently forgot that as well. He was only banned for three games by the ICC and it was cricket Australia that gave him and the others that ridiculously excessive ban. Either way you can disagree with my opinion on Smith’s ban, He’s served his time, anyone booing someone who has just come back after taking a 95 mile an hour ball to the neck is bang out of order, regardless of the situation.

Isn't it meant to be 'whinging poms'? Though you're all old UK anyway. Anyway how on earth can an Australian moan about booing?.....Your chavvy contingent are up there with the worst for uncharitable behaviour. I don't agree with you on Smith's punishment but I do agree with you on our own too charitable treatment of Atherton and our own cheating.

I personally wouldn't boo Steve Smith because a) he's done his time b) he's a great batsman c) he's not the first cheat...….but the booing is the reaction to years of English players copping it in Australia. Think of the crowd yelling "kill" when Thomson came in to bowl. Think of Steve Waugh's promise "mental disintegration" to the weak. Think of the all-out assault on Stewart Broad by media and public, the devastation of Jonathan Trott who was traumatised by his visit down under and by Mitchell Johnson. A lot of the English public enjoy payback, in whatever shape or form it comes. Justin Langer was an idiot to goad Jofra Archer and Steve Smith suffered the consequences. Oh and Pat Cummins wasn't above bouncer after bouncer at Archer the tail-ender.

Even daddy had to come out and tell the English bullies not to be nasty to poor little Steve.

I believe Woakes will be the danger man with the amount of swing on offer. Archer may be better at getting something out of a flat pitch later in this game.
