FYI this was happening before Biden was inaugurated... with the active involvement of the previous administration. Trump didn’t pull ALL the troops out. They’ve been there the entire time he’s been in office. And not in a neutral capacity.

Biden apologised for national guard sleeping in a car park,no social distancing or welfare facilities. 200 now have C19. Good start joe especially after you wanted them there to protect you from a fallacy.

As a matter of interest why would EU National working in the NHS decide to leave? No reason for them to is there? If they have been here and registered, no problem with them staying, Immigration wise... fact.
On the other hand, I believe your wife is Filipino ( apologies if I am wrong), there will now probably be more opportunities for qualified Filipino health workers in the U.K. which I am sure she would welcome ( I must add Filipino hospital staff are amongst the best and their politeness is usually second to none).
Is it not possible certain EU countries will welcome the fact that qualified health care workers are returning to work in their own countries, given the “brain drain” that has occurred over the years?
Finally if you are of the opinion EU nationals will have problems entering the U.K., you are wrong ( unless their presence is undesirable and even you must agree this is the right course of action), they are still being allowed to use the e-gates and travel on ID Cards... fact

My wife is indeed Filipino. Apparently, from her own observations, there has been a movement of EU health workers away from the UK ever since we decided to leave the EU which has accelerated in the last year. We can only speculate on why!

Matching that there has been a recruitment drive in the Philippines to replace them. The problem is the timing. New staff from places with different practices have to undergo a period of assimilation and re-assessment before they get their "PIN" (for nurses). This is putting additional pressure on an already under pressure service.

I know that the EU workers could stay and indeed could obtain visas, provided they meet the criteria, but some at least have decided, for whatever reason, to abandon ship after Brexit.

It's amusing that during the campaign several posters on here were telling us that Biden wasn't a liar, when he's done little else over the last forty years.

Biden will worsen just about everything in America, but the left won't care because 'orange man bad' made up their entire perspective.

It's a dangerous time in more ways than one.

Point being, the criticism made is a couple of days into a Presidency and something the previous President was responsible for. I certainly agree with Trump's approach to winding down military involvement overseas more than most of his contributions, but perhaps two years into a Presidency will be more revealing of the new administration's approach to war than two days.
