In a previous life, I reckon Parish and Freedman might have been a couple of Brothers from Peckham, always just so close to the prize but just about managing to bugger it up when the finishing line was visible. As for Fergusson, can't see what would stop us buying a free agent unless there other things going on in the club of which we are not aware. Alternatively, we may have someone else in mind. I have heard mixed reports about the player and I don't recall any great demand for his services from clubs. He has actually not played for WBA since January this year due to injury and he doesn't appear to have been missed.

I'd consider that in January we may have been willing to pay 11 mill for a fit Ferguson but didn't want to pay 11 mill for a `dodgy` Ferguson, where as now if everything had been normal 4 mill for a `dodgy` Ferguson seems very much like an acceptable risk we need to remember we are not flush with cash in the best of worlds and we do not know how much of an impact the loss in revenue from Covid-19 has had on our already limited war chest so it may now be felt that 4 mill is now too much of a risk.
