Having a pop at someone for the way they dress is wrong in my humble opinion. Each to their own and all that. But do think he overdid it last night with the beret on question time, didn't even match his nails ffs!! Think he made himself look a bit silly as well by being all shouty and coming across as a slightly younger version of Mrs Brown from Mrs Brown's Boys. Remember seeing him at the Fairfield Halls nearly 20 years ago and didn't find him funny whatsoever. Went to the bar and didn't return after the interval, opted for the fun of the Blue Orchid instead. Very wise move if I remember correctly. But he's a Palace fan and 'does a lot for charity' so good luck to him.

I don't think anyone deserves abuse, but every day on my walk to Brighton station there'll be someone dressed in a way that amuses me. I keep it in my head though. I used to be a goth. I looked like a t***. Izzard looks like a t***. We both have/had a right to look like a t*** without abuse, but must accept that people were secretly thinking "that guy looks like a t***".

Can't help feeling the OP probably likes to wear his mums stockings and lippy but isn't brave enough to take it outside.
All good. Nothing bad. |

Probably because the OP (much like several others on this thread) come across as total poofs sticking up for their crossing dressing hero. You may like looking at men dressed up as women Maple - doesn't mean we all have do.

As for Izzard, I don't find him that funny and think the fact that he's Palace is irrelevant to the topic.
If you come to a fork in the road, take it. |

Reading through this thread has, on the one hand, made me ashamed to be a Palace fan; if our fans object to the way Eddie Izzard dresses or, indeed, his sexuality, they can do one. On the other hand, it is heartening to see other fans stand up against such bigotry. Yay! Proud again! I saw a comment that said seeing Izzard 'dressed like that isn't the image I want of our club... eeek what about the children??!?!'. Actually, it IS the image of our club I'd want people to see; to see that we're a tolerant, welcoming place. I'd certainly rather that than have us perceived as a club full of pot-bellied skinhead racist homophobes (let the bellends down Millwall way have that 'look'). I get the sense that some of the bigots on here would rather have fans like this, than fans like Eddie Izzard:

It is a pity however, that the progressive liberal movement does not seem to have much tolerance for other peoples opinion. They seem to want to claim the moral high ground all for themselves. They seem to miss the irony.
