Fulham game, Guehi out - look what happened. Our squad was a problem since the beginning of the season. Add in under performers or want aways and this is what we get.

Having watched the tv footage a number of times now you can clearly see the arm of Tomkins extends as he turns round to shield the ball. It is NOT an elbow and his forearm clearly catches Mitrovic on the neck / under the chin. Mitrovic immediately collapses to the floor clutching first his face, then his right eye. No contact was made anywhere near either of those two areas. He is a cheat and contrived to get Tomkins sent off.

Having watched the Fulham game and today I watched the highlights of the Man U v N.Forest game I am confused. In my younger days I was a qualified referee with the Surrey FA and I no longer have any idea what the hand ball law is any more as Fulham were awarded a goal after a clear and obvious handball and Forest had a goal disallowed and the two were similar.

I have not seen the Nottm Forest incident. In terms of Fulham's second goal, the ball clearly hit Mitrovic's hand but it was deemed "accidental" and as he was not the player who scored, the goal was allowed to stand. I have just perused the following : "After initial question marks over whether or not it struck his arm, the goal was actually ruled out for offside after a touch from Willy Boly at the back post. He had strayed into an offside position as VAR stepped in for its routine check, meaning United saw their clean sheet preserved at that time in the showdown" Edited by Willo (28 Dec 2022 3.41pm)

So you are saying a ball "accidentally" diverted to a team mate by a hand who then scores it's OK.?

If an attacking player’s accidental handball immediately precedes another player scoring, the goal will now be awarded and not disallowed. However, a player will still be penalised if he commits an accidental handball immediately before scoring himself.

Well if that's true then it's a bleddy joke. Refereeing against us seems to be a bit of a joke most games. The Fulham game-plan's main contributor was the ref.
