He needs to do more than wait for the ball to be planted on his head and was caught offside too much.

Does anybody believe that should we lose to both Leicester and Sheff Utd, Roy Hodgson will be in charge for the next game ?

He should show his desire by snatching the ball off the designated penalty taker and then fluffing the penalty. No wait...

Edited by The Dolphin (27 Dec 2020 9.48am) Our crossing might improve if we started playing a right footed player right midfield and a left footed played left midfield. Playing on the opposite flanks was a trend that started when we purchased Townsend, moving Zaha from his natural right to left. Playing Eze on the left and Schlupp on the right these past 2 games is no help to either Benteke or to those players. They just cut back with the ball, or drift in when they don’t have it, and invariably a cross gets floated in. All of which slows out play down.

Over the course of the season he’s shown he can produce enough to get us over the line. The owners will know that. I dont believe the club has any more aspirations than that. I believe they are aware of the issues with the squad and manager, in terms of progression but I don’t think they wish to address it any time soon as long as they have Hodgson who will see us survive.

The other 8 behind them gave them nothing to work with. I’m beginning to wonder if PVA has a problem with Zaha as he rarely passes to him. There were times in the last two matches that Zaha was asking him for the pass and he either gave it to another or just completely misplaced the pass. Doesn’t help when they are both on the left?

What style. I think you’re being a little harsh. Our build up play is generally tidy with a lot intricate passing. We have some quality but we’re just missing the final ball which is down to movement. Big Ben needs crosses which we don’t provide. I will accept that the Villa game and the 2nd half vs Liverpool were a total shower of sh*t.

Maybe, but despite what some people seem to think, Roy could easily be shown the door with another two losses. A manager is judged on results and we are consistently not getting them.
