Back to Benteke, I've just spent a few minutes watching a video of all his goals from 2012 to 2015. Blimey, what a striker he was. Includes the goal he scored against us for Villa, when he won the ball in front of the Arthur around the junction of touch line and halfway and went all the way. How we lost that game 0-1 I'll never know - it was one of those nights.

Mate We have had 3 international strikers at palace not score goals here under roy. The issue aint the strikers its Hodgson its actually ludicrous to think Benteke is a bad striker Hodgson has turned palace into a strikers grave yard.

Yes some truth in this but I watched him closely today and his work rate was non existent, positional sense the same and was just going through the motions. Admittedly the balls coming into the box weren’t the best but such little challenge. A central defenders dream and he has been ever since he joined us.

When Benteke wasn't available, we were pumping long balls to Ayew who is about 5'4 and wouldn't get on the end of them if he had a trampoline.
Today I don't remember a decent cross or set piece go anywhere near his head.
Just another example of not playing to their strengths.
