The saddest thing about this is the increasingly reduced air time the incidents are getting now, due in large to a certain 'acceptance' that such events will continue to occur. Instead they can't wait to push the story aside to get the real issue of knee touching, front and centre

Quick shout out to the Police - taking him alive doesn't seem to be the modus operandi for US police (if reports are to be believed), but they did incredibly well here. Hope they get some valuable intelligence from him. A bit early to draw conclusions (and I'm sure our US members can correct any inaccuracy here) but I believe New York has more strict gun laws than most states - could that be why he was firing some sort of fake gun (paintball has been mentioned), and didn't carry out further shootings afterwards?

How bizarre he couldn't get a proper gun, I am sure the NRA will be raging about New York gun laws restricting the right of potential threats to society to arm themselves to the teeth.
