What those calling for same sex marriage for example - how would that work, as Muslim men can have loads of wives but Muslim women can only have one husband. Would lesbian Muslims have one female wife but homosexual Muslims each have loads of different 'husbands', with each of those also having loads of different husbands and so on? Also, I certainly agree, there are positive movements within Islam that need to take over from other socially conservative ones.

They can be like the Christians and Jews and others who disagree with it but accept the principle as apart of living within a secular country that tries to represent everyone instead of just what a particular book says. The forces of moderation and compromise have to overcome the literalists and conservatives within the religion. You can't be successful as a group within a country and not properly integrate with the host culture (though I'm aware some do the double life to square the circle).

Hmmm.. many examples of non-integrationist colonials in far away places who did very well indeed thank you very much. Australia, for example. And plenty of very strong and successful but insular Jewish communities too across Europe before they were disappeared. You can be successful but you may be resented.
