Out of 22000 horizon systems 700 went wrong. That’s about 3%.

So I wonder if that’s the case; exactly how many systems gave false figures.

I imagine your attack is equally (and obviously) directed to Labour who commissioned Fujitsu; but, do you also attribute culpability to those Tory ministers with the relevant portfolio for the last 9 years, or are they wholly blameless? Hint: the level of knowledge of the scandal has greatly increased during the last 8/9 years. Perhaps you are saying ED is a "complete cnut" in a general sense, and your post just happens to be on this thread? Personally I hold any politician who has held any office, which could have dealt with this, culpable, irrespective of party. That includes Blair who signed it off even though he was warned by Harriet Harmanthat it had faults.

Is it right to continue to compound the misery of the majority incorrectly prosecuted for this just so we don’t let the small minority slip through the net. I don’t think it is and think therefore that should be a trade off that is accepted.

It is a national disgrace that a major institution acted in such an atrocious way and that our legal system could be used to do it. Politicians have had years to remove convictions and properly compensate the surviving victims, and yet only now do they claim that they are in a hurry to see justice done. Those responsible should see jail time, and Fujitsu must also be answerable for their part in all this. It is beyond belief that all those people could be accused of theft and no one in government or law thought something was wrong. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (09 Jan 2024 10.49am)

This. With bells on. It’s like the Government has been waiting until many of them have died to save on cost. See also blood transfusion scandal Two shameful events where politicians have shown their true colours. We can waste 8 million a day on housing illegals, and yet they avoid compensating these people. How can we ever trust politicians to give a damn about us? Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (08 Jan 2024 10.02pm)

Likely Fujitsu are the only provider capable of ongoing maintenance to the system still in use, that's where the real money is in systems like these
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |
