The only managers i would go for in order are:

1, Andoni Iraola
2, Kieran McKenna
3, Vincent Kompany
4, Michel (Girona)
5, Will Still

Cooper, Potter, Lopetegui, Not for Me.

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

The realist in me, based on what has transpired over the previous 11 seasons, thinks that Roy or no Roy, the next incumbent will last around 18 months before the same pressing issues rise to the top as they have always done. It's the same stuff every season, a few enthusiastic shouts for a Euro spot after a decent run, whittled down to worries about relegation when we are about where we are now, followed by a 12th to 15th placed finish, followed by the usual discussion about lack of finances to truly progress...

Happy New Year!

Has all the hallmarks for me of 'great footballer not equalling great manager'.

Still very early days for him but I do think it's a different kettle of fish to playing the game.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Wpuld you rather we go back to the League i, 2 or the Championship?
Us older fans had years of watching those divisions. I like the PL because of course I love seeing Palace there but also we get to see some great players in the opposition teams.

Looking at the touch line / manager area in recent matches I note how much Paddy McCarthy is involved. He seems to relay info to Hodgson through out a match. Appreciate he hasn’t got any managerial experience yet but he may already be in place to replace Hodgson? Perhaps all our chats / rumours will be answered by Paddy being appointed above anyone else with Lewington staying on as his assistant? Just putting it in the mix :-)

I think that's been in the mix for a long time PC.

That has been discussed before on here, understandably.

However, given that Paddy was given the green light to apply for the Oxford Utd job, which of course he didn't land, suggests that Palace are giving him the experience he needs in order to get a managers position elsewhere.

On the subject of the 'Technical Area', I noticed Shaun Derry, currently coach at Wolves, rather euphoric after a victory and I contrasted this with his time at the club when he cut a forlorn, motionless figure in the dugout looking as miserable as sin.He seemed totally detached from the management and coaches.

Birmingham were 6th when he took over after 11 games. The club only recorded 1 win in 15 whilst he was at the helm, a 2-1 home win against struggling Sheff Wed, and they are now 20th in the Division.

Perhaps Birmingham will make advances for Steve Cooper who took up the reins when Nottm Forest were in a perilous position and took them to the PL.
