Roy's latest break out about Olise's injury shows just how far he has de coupled from the modern game. He feels zero responsibility his poor game management has caused to our players injury problems.
His recent post match interviews are badly exposing him for what he is, an elderly statesman with a great CV that covers his past achievements but who is sadly lacking the necessary abilities to game manage appropriately in the Premier league.
It is very disappointing that we will now lose Olise for maybe 30% of his remaining games at the club due to a total lack of acceptance of required player rotation in the modern game to avoid exactly this.
As a season ticket stakeholder I am feeling cheated out of the talent I have paid to watch due to Roy's negative and out of touch attitude. Last season it was Zaha. Now gone. This season it is Olise. Soon to depart.
As for disrespect.....I am finding all the respect I have for Roy is fast evaporating over the past few games and his post match comments.
Roy's latest comments post Brentford leaves me angry and full of despair.
To leave a recovering player on the pitch playing at 100% intensity as Olise was after recovering from such a bad hamstring injury is foolish especially when Roy had been warned by our medical team,. To claim his 'new' injury is in a different place in the hamstring shows how out of touch he is with modern physiology and musculoskeletal issues which at best is very disappointing.
Progressive modern premier managers need to have a proper grasp on the physiology of their players, yet by his own admission in the interview, Roy's knowledge is badly lacking.

Frankly this is totally unacceptable management and should not be ignored by our board.
The personal disrespect Roy felt after the Bournemouth game pales into insignificance alongside his failure and lack of understanding to protect not only our players well being but also to respect and understand our season ticket holders passion, commitments and enjoyment. Overall it is he showing the lack of respect which is clearly turning him into such a frustrated angry old man.

Olise has had injurys on off for months he got injured playing for under 21s on 2 occasions how is that Roys fault we would have to rest all our top players putting 5 subs on isnt the way , that is last throw of the dice , we have lost to many 2 goal leads , at 1 nil you have to keep the goal threats on the pitch , so yes would like to see key players rested but at what price think about it

My point is that Roy is out of touch with modern injuries. These young forwards are very highly tuned athletes. When you get a hamstring that needs surgical repair as with Olise injury playing for France, it is crucial that the rehab is closely overseen by trained medical experts (which we have on the payroll). To ignore their instructions, and Roy was regularly warned of this, is a dereliction of duty that beggars belief. We should have thanked our lucky stars when he slid the ball in for goal three and promptly hauled him off.
I have since ascertained that the injury is in the same hamstring, yet Roy has publicly denounced any personal responsibility. Im sorry, but that is totally unacceptable .

I have to agree. The reluctance to take any blame whatsoever for the situation is yet another post match interview faux pas this season. I’d of had a lot more respect for him if he came out and apologised to Olise for not taking him off given we had a two goal lead, (regardless of whether Olise wanted to carry on). He is the manager and is responsible for their wellbeing even if it annoys them.

With Cooper being strongly linked with the now vacant Brum job it's a real litmus test to see if, or how seriously Palace want Cooper to succeed Roy. I don't think Brum will hang around with a new appointment so the Palace hierarchy will have to make a decision or lose the window of opportunity.

Let him go to Brum and good luck to him. He is in my opinion better suited to the Championship. I'm sure there will be a few idiots on here that (if he were to do well with Brum in the Championship) will say we missed a big opportunity back in January but there is a chasm of difference between getting a tune out of a big team in the Championship as opposed to trying to stay competitive against behemoths in the top division.

No lose argument using that thinking. If he does well he’s not good enough for the PL because it’s harder than the Championship and if he doesn’t do well then we dodged a bullet. It’s a bit harsh on him, but I agree in so far as he wouldn’t be my first choice.

Utter tripe. Roy said in the post match interview that himself, the sports science guy, the fitness team, the physio AND Olise himself agreed he needs to start playing 90 minutes if he is ever going to reach maximum sharpness and match fitness. Personally I dont even think he has much of an injury and Roy just wants an excuse to rest him for the FA cup game. I'm betting he'll be back again when league action resumes.
Plus how do you think Olise would feel being taken off earlier when he felt fine and was on a hatrick? I guess you'd be then criticizing Roy's 'game management' if he took him off earlier? With idiots like you that are determined to blame Roy for all thats wrong in your world the bloke cant win can he?
As for being an 'angry old man' I think most would agree on here your post comes across as a frustrated jobsworth that resembles a nosy neighbour wearing out his keyboard with complaints to the council about parking, noise and everything else you can think of to moan about.

There are a few out there that I'd like the club to explore. Potter, Fonseca, Mckenna all have their merrits but also negative aspects I imagine.
I'm still of the belief Roy will remain in charge till the summer and a new man will be appointed then. Think it would be incredibly disrespectful as well as embarrassing of Palace fans if we cannot find it within ourselves to stop moaning about him and get behind him.

He’s also mine but I don’t think we would be of interest to him.

Why? Ipswich are by no means guaranteed promotion. even if they were they would be amongst the favourites to go down. Palace is a mid table established top division club. For someone who I'm guessing sees himself as a Palace fan/supporter you seem to have a low opinion of the club and its outside image.
Personally, if offered the job I believe someone like Mcenna would jump at it. Its more about who the club are interested in than who we can get. Its not as if Parish is trying to tempt Mourinho or Van Gaal is it?

Are you Roy in disguise looking for a yellow card? Or even red?
