Maybe thats why they pulled the trigger on Rooney today (obviously current results notwithstanding) but ultimately in order not to miss out on Cooper ? Originally posted by eagleman13

Feels like there is a lot of hate towards Cooper, which I find odd. He's been delt quite a difficult job at NF with all those players (not too dissimilar to Potter at Chelsea). But outside of this season (which hasnt been terrible) his record is impressive. Worth remembering the great work he did with the England set up. Highlights being getting the U17s to the Euros final, and then winning the WC. Knows Guehi well after having coached him at England and signed for Swansea.

Having spent 310m EUR since he was appointed, with a deficit of 255m wont fill Parish with confidence

And has the sheer number of signing been more of a hindrance than a help? Also got Swansea performing despite loosing Dan James, Mc Burnie, Ayew and Joe Rodon

As a PREMIERSHIP MANAGER Cooper has been rubbish. People like you want to put him in charge of a top division club based on his success with a youth team that had enough talent to be successful with or without him.

We're not a top team so need to be realistic with our manager ambitions. He's kept a newly promoted team up, and Forrest are currently 1 point below us. Keeping in mind that we are an established prem team, its not really that bad. He was successful with England, with Swansea, and then got Forrest promoted and kept them up. Not saying he is the messiah, but he's not a fool.
